Fees & Policies


Session Fee
$120 per session (50 minutes), payable by cash, check or debit/credit card at the time of each visit. (For information regarding the insurance that I accept please see the 'Insurance' link on this website). 

Reduced Fee

Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis for students and unemployed adults.

After Hours Emerencies
Phone and email messages are retrieved on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. I will make every effort to return calls on the same business day. If you experience an after-hours psychiatric emergency, call 911 or go to the emergency room in your area, or call Psychiatric Emergency Services at San Francisco General Hospital at (415) 206-8125 for immediate assistance.

Cancellation Policy
I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you do not cancel a session within 24 hours of the scheduled time, you will be charged for the session. If you pay with insurance you will be charged the negotiated insurance rate.

The Use of Email 
Email can be used for the purpose of scheduling and changing appointments. The same 24 hour change/cancellation policy applies using this means of communication. Email is not used to discuss clinical diagnoses, assessments or interventions. Please do not share confidential information or report a psychiatric crisis by email.

Risk & Benefits of Treatment
There are potential risks and benefits to entering any psychologically based treatment. Sessions often involve discussing difficult aspects of one's life, which may lead to some uncomfortable feelings during and between sessions. I believe that symptom relief can be achieved by addressing these feelings in session. While psychological services have been shown to benefit therapy participants, as with medical treatment, there are no guarantees of what gains may occur or when.
